Moobs
Posted by Webby at March 30, 2008 05:01 PM | Comments (0)Even though Jilly and I are convinced I've put on weight again (my belly and moobs both seem to be making a resurgence), the Boots weighing scales still register my weight as 128.5Kg or 20st 3lb.
It's time I really concentrated on losing more weight. Evidently, Jobley and I have both settled on this temporary plateau...COME ON JOBLEY!
Horticultural Genius
Posted by Webby at March 29, 2008 10:00 AM | Comments (0)Looking through the pieces of the new 1000 piece jigsaw which her Mummy recently bought from 'that charry shop', Evelyn was clearly thinking about something.
After some time, Evelyn turned to Jilly and told her,
"Mummy, we need to put some water in this jigsaw!"
Obviously shocked and surprised at Evelyn's apparently vandalistic approach to jigsaw completion, Jilly told Evelyn that putting water in the jigsaw box would ruin it.
"But, we need to put some water on the jigsaw to make the pieces grow", Evelyn replied. "They are too small!"
In Evelyn's defence, 1000 piece jigsaw pieces are very small.
Back on the horse...
Posted by Webby at March 16, 2008 04:50 PM | Comments (0)After successfully returning to watching what I am eating, I have managed to lose a few pounds again, this week, and have nearly returned to my pre-holiday weight...HUZZAH!
I am now weighing in at 128.5Kg or 20st 3lb.
Quality Nuts
Posted by Webby at March 13, 2008 10:48 PM | Comments (0)I was thrilled, today, to receive a lovely and very thoughtful present from our dear friends Deb and Kev.
I opened the present, which was obviously material of some description, and it had, stuck to it, a note reading, "We saw this, and thought we ought to buy it for you while it still fits".
I continued opening the present to discover an excellent Scooby Doo T-Shirt (in XXL, which ought to go without saying, really!), and on the T-shirt was the most surprising transfer...
The T-shirt will fit my, no matter how much weight I am able to lose. It's a lovely thought, you guys. More only concern, now, is which one of you, my close friends, was thinking about my quality nuts! Or was the T-shirt a subliminal and subconscious message about your own mental healths? Either way, I'm lovin' the T-shirt, thank you!
Congratulations to Chris, Bernie and baby Rose
Posted by Webby at March 10, 2008 08:07 PM | Comments (0)The population of Gingatopia would like to express their heart-felt congratulations to Chris and Bernie Beith on the safe arrival of their beautiful baby daughter Niamh (pronounced 'Neve') today.
Niamh was born at 10:00 this morning and weighted in at an excellent (dare I say 'whopping'?) 8lb 2oz. HUZZAH!
I have no doubt that, as soon as it's logistically possible, we'll be pestering the poor family for a 'hold of the babee'...er...that's if can prize Niamh's big sister, Rose, away from her for long enough!
"Another Mummy"
Posted by Webby at March 10, 2008 08:07 PM | Comments (0)On her return from work this evening, Jilly demanded to know why Evelyn insisted on removing her socks, trousers and knickers, during the day and parading around the house in a state of 'near nakedity'. Evelyn is constantly removing her clothes as she claims she is 'warm enough'. As the heated debate ensured, tempers became a little frayed and Evelyn eventually snapped.
"I don't like you", Evelyn shouted. "I want a different Mummy"
Not to be out done, Jilly replied, "Well, I want a different daughter; a nice one that behaves herself and keeps her clothes on when asked to. I'm going to the shops to see if I can get a new daughter".
"NNNNOOOOoooooooooo", came Evelyn's immediate response.
Bless!
Visiting Nostell Priory...again
Posted by Webby at March 9, 2008 10:43 PM | Comments (0)
Jilly, Evelyn and I decided that we'd have a drive out to Nostell Priory today, to get a breathe of fresh air...
There was a bit of a chill in the air, and it threatened to rain all day, but we had a lovely day and Evelyn walked everywhere without a single complaint.
Daddy/Daughter Day
Posted by Webby at March 8, 2008 10:11 PM | Comments (0)On a day which I like to think of as Daddy/Daughter Day, but which was also referred to as 'Lovely Booby Day', Jilly spent the afternoon and early evening with her old colleagues from Ward 3, seeing 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' at The Alambra in Bradford, on Michelle's leaving do postponed from the end of last year. Jilly said the production was brilliant, as was the Akbar's curry they had afterwards.
It tickled Jilly and I to repeatedly refer to 'Shitty Shitty Bang Bang'. Evelyn wasn't being naughty, it just seems as though the 'tch' sound is another one that Evelyn can't make, and is another that we are going to have to work on with her. Unfortunately, neither Jilly or I are quick to help Evelyn pronounce her words more accurately as are both wholly and completely enchanted by the way she speaks.
Evelyn and I played Evelyn's current favourite game, 'Sharon The Sheep', which Julie and Ged bought for her on our recent holiday. Evelyn loves playing the game and is DEFINITELY reading the names and descriptions on the cards...BRILLIANT!
Lovin' Canon Photostitch 3.1
Posted by Webby at March 8, 2008 09:55 PM | Comments (0)It's with the use of Canon Photostitch 3.1 that I have finally managed to stitch together a series of photographs taken by the Wassock-Meister himself during our trip to Keswick, last year.
The software works absolute miracles.
Steph, Helen, Alex and Charlie visit
Posted by Webby at March 6, 2008 09:15 PM | Comments (0)
Steph, Helen, Alex and the new baby Charlie visited Gingatopia today...and much fun was had by all.
Jilly says that it was very difficult wrestling Charlie from Evelyn was she was given the responsibility of holding him.
Evelyn and Alex played nicely together (as is evident in the photographs), but a little too much time was spent in Evelyn's room for my liking!
