"By George, I think she's got it!"
Posted by Webby at November 19, 2006 10:09 PM | Comments (0)As Jilly has bought Evelyn as special pack-away potty [for use with a disposable plastic bag] we seem to go nowhere without it now. But, fantastically, Evelyn is using it.
As we returned home from a spin out in the car this afternoon, Evie announced, in a little princess stylee, "I want my potty!". Very carefully, but equally quickly, I pulled over to the side of the road while Jilly prepared the potty, inserting the plastic bag with integral absorbent liner. Jilly got out of the car, took Evelyn from her seat and sat her, on her new potty, on the front passenger seat. Within [literally] seconds, Evelyn had successfully used her potty, Yay!
You can only imagine how proud Jilly and I are of our liddle princess!
Funny Liddle Thing
Posted by Webby at November 13, 2006 08:36 PM | Comments (0)At 06:10 this morning Jilly and I were awoken by what is becoming Evelyn's usual morning greeting, "Mummy...Mummy...Mummy...Mummy...". As I was getting up for work, I took Evelyn from her bed and took her to Jilly in our bed. According to Jilly, Evelyn shuffled constantly. When Jilly asked Evelyn to stop shuffling, she replied, "I'm not shufflin'" and started giggling!
As Jilly tried to get back to sleep, she rolled over, closing her eyes. Evelyn said, "Face me Mummy. I want to see your face." Jilly turned over and Evelyn promptly licked Jilly's face, giggling!
"Open your eyes, Mummy", said Evie, poking Jilly in the eyes, "Wate [Wake] up, Mummy, wate up"!
"Leave me alone", Jilly pleaded, "I'm asleep".
"No, you're not", Evie pointed out, "You're taughtin' [talking]". She's not daft our daughter.
Swimming with Jim and Dommy
As Henney is at home with Moppy, Jilly and Evelyn went swimming with Dominic and Jim today. There was much splashin' and messin' about [and the children had an excellent time, too (arf! arf!)], before leaving the pool to enjoy a post-swimming snack.
According to Jilly, Dominic asked Evelyn if she'd like his half-eaten cereal bar. When Evelyn said 'yes', Dommy had a sudden change of heart, saying "Oh! Oh!" looking a little surprised that Evelyn had accepted his offer [poor naive boy...he'll learn!] Jim told Dominic that, having offered it, he had to give Evelyn the bar.
Dom was still a little stunned as Evelyn approached him, took the bar from him [thanking him politely] and ran away to the changing cubicle where she ate the cereal bar. On finishing the bar, Evelyn marched up to Dominic, announcing, "I've finished it all!".
That'll teach 'im!
Birthday Boy
Posted by Webby at November 7, 2006 09:16 PM | Comments (0)And, so soon after yesterday's excitement, it's time to celebrate the annversary of Kieran's birthday once again; his fifteenth birthday, infact.
To give Kieran what his mum calls a 'grown-up' meal, we took Kieran [and Evelyn] to the Temujin Mongolian restaurant in Milnsbridge. Evelyn loved choosing her food for the chef to cook, particularly noodles and mange tout...er...though she wasn't quite so keen on the all the flames.
Kieran's opinion? That the restaurant would be an excellent place to bring girls to impress them. As Jilly pointed out, he was going to have to get himself a number of paper rounds if he was plaaning to take girls there because, while the place was very nice, and the food really good, it's rather expensive.
Fantastic News
Posted by Webby at November 6, 2006 10:12 PM | Comments (0)The population of Gingatopia would like to say a lovely warm welcome the beautiful new addition to the Wassocks household.
Beautiful Matilda Dora Harris was born at 03:00 this morning, is 55cm tall, and weighs 9lb 5oz. Of course, anyone reading this will be able to read more about Matilda Moppy Harris [Moppy is Matilda's first, nick-name given to her by her lovely big brother, Dominic] over on Wassocks.
As Jilly has been looking after Dominic today [while Mummy, Daddy and baby sister 'Moppy' slept], Jilly and Evelyn returned Dom home this afternoon and had the opportunity to meet Matilda. I met Matilda for the first time [when I collected Jilly and Evelyn after work] and there's no doubt; she is absolutely perfect!
