More fibbing...
Posted by Webby at June 28, 2006 09:32 PM | Comments (0)Occasionally, Evie will deny that she's filled her nappy when it's perfectly clear, from the overwhelming smell, that her nappy needs changing.
Peculiarly, things have changed! Tonight, after Jilly and I had finished getting Evie bathed and changed, we were watching Wallace and Gromit [as is the pre-bed ritual now!] when Evelyn exclaimed, quite out of the blue, that she had, "Done a MASSIVE POO!", pointing at her bum. That's right, she referred to her MASSIVE poo!
That's ma girl [or more accurately, that's Jilly's girl!]
*Incidentally, she hadn't done a poo, massive, or otherwise!

I'll add some further text when Jilly and I get some time to sit down together. Oh, my feeble bwain [sic].
If at first you do deceive...

Jilly asked Evelyn who had been talking, when she should have been sleeping. Evie's reply?
"Er...er...baby Lucy did it!"
Jilly asked Evelyn again, "It wasn't baby Lucy, was it?"
Peering through the bars of her cot, Evelyn reiterated, "Yes, Lucy did it!"
I dunno!
"I love Daddy"
Posted by Webby at June 8, 2006 09:40 PM | Comments (0)After dinner this evening, as Evelyn linked her beautiful little arm in mine, she 'snuggled' into my shoulder and, as I looked across the table at Jilly and we both "Ahhhh'd", Evelyn [almost] whispered, "I love Daddy. I love Daddy".
My heart melted immediately!
I'm From Further North than Yow [sic]!

Following a mad frenzy to confirm that the gig was actually going ahead [and that it wasn't just a spiteful rumour raised by Kempy], Jilly and Kempy managed to procure tickets for a previously unadvertised Wedding Present gig at Leeds Metropolitan University last night.
When Jilly arrived home, she was wringing wet through and buzzing from her experience near the front of a heaving 'mosh' pit. Apparently, the gig was frequented, largely, by sad, 'thirty/forty-something' blokes, and only a minority of women and younger people. According to Jilly, and several guys at work, the set was excellent and included many tracks from older albums. Of course, that might just have been because thay were playing their home town, and all Gedgies school buddies were in the audience...
I have to thank one of the younger members of the audience, Djenan, for the photographs that I have stolen and placed on Flickr. Many thanks, Djenan. A link to Djenan's complete Weddoes Flickr set can be found here.
I'm only hoping, now, that I can find someone who is prepared to go the the Weddoes gig at Fibbers in York on the 9th July...any takers?

Jilly and Evelyn joined Helen and Dominic on their weekly trip to the swimming baths today. During the session, Evelyn repeatedly jumped into the pool, obviously enjoying herself. After a while, and obviously a little bored, Dominic decided that he would remove his 'bobbing jacket', but Helen and Jilly were there to make sure he was safe.
Interested in the Bobin jacket[!], Evelyn decided she wanted to wear it [she has worn it previously, but showed no interest in using it as an actual swimming aid]. Today was different though. Much to Helen's astonishment [and Jilly's pride] Evelyn, using a combination of kick, kick, kick and tiger arms [otherwise known as the doggy paddle], swam three lengths of the pool! SHE'S TWO! How staggeringly brilliant is that!? [You needn't answer. It is, of course, a rhetorical question!]
Jilly and I think we'll be buying Evelyn a 'bobbing jacket', oh yes!
