Embsay :: Thomas the Tank Engine

While Kieran is enjoying his week in Germany, the other residents of Gingatopia spent the day in Embsay, near Skipton, at the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway with Thomas [the Tank Engine] and friends. As the waether was so poor, I've pinched a few images from these sights, and plan to add them to our photographs and then post them to Flickr as soon as I get the time.
Evelyn seemed to really enjoy seeing the the trains and was obviously very unhappy when we left.
And...another high point for me...for the first time, I managed to find the celebrated Stanforths butchers in Skipton where we bought a number of quality porkington pork pie products. Oh yes!
Haben Sie eine gute Zeit, Kieran.

Obviously worried about her Little Kieran Prince Binky being away from home for a week without her, Jilly is - I know - going to be intolerable until he comes back; things are going to be a little stormy, and no mistake!
I don't know what Jilly is more afraid of; that Kieran might meet a German girl who will lead him astray, or that one of his female school friends might have the same idea. Personally, I'd be more afraid of the pretty prince being led astray by a big hairy Albrecht! What I do know, is that Jilly made reference to all the, "...girls swarming all over the coach with breasts and long flicky hair". [She told me that I should quote her for the purposes of this entry!].
Jilly has finally begun to relax as Kieran has phoned her this evening [at 20:00] to tell her that he arrived safely and that he has eaten dinner. Apparently, they were given what Kieran referred to as a dirty meal of fat meat and cabbage. I can only hope that the food improves!
We know he'll have an excellent time...the lucky monkey!
Morrissey Music Appreciation Society
Posted by Webby at May 28, 2006 10:45 PM | Comments (0)Evie's talking also took another, more interesting, direction today as, when listening to the radio during lunch this afternoon, the latest Morrissey single was played. Evie immediately identified the track as "Mozzy", and asked that we, "watch CD [she meant DVD!]". Much to Jilly's delight, Evelyn seems to be becoming a Morrissey fan. Fantastic!
A.K.A. Front Bottom/Tuppence

Evelyn had, obviously become quite sore in her very wet nappy over night.
I know it's an expression that Jilly has used in the past and, on reflection, it seems a perfectly adequate phrase for Evie to use.
"Teeth and eyes, darling!"

Evelyn made her second visit to the dentist today. Considering how much she objects and struggles during her morning and bedtime teeth brushing, the dentist reports that Evelyn's teeth are looking great. Evie surprised Jilly by behaving really well and even, enthusiastically, presenting the dentist with her cavenous open mouth. Evie was lovin' the dentist...er...unlike mummy who has had to have her crown replaced today, only to have it break after a cup of tea.
The photograph is another beauty kindly taken by Jim at Wassocks. I just thought I'd throw it in as it shows, very clearly, how beautiful Evie's teeth are and, as it's so very cool. Heeeeyyyyyyy!
Another Beautiful Daddy/Daughter Day

As Nana-Gee is still recovering from her veins, and she and Poppy are still preparing for their house move, Evie and I spent the day together today.
Shopping was a bit of a nightmare as I, rather niavely, expected Evelyn to behave on her reins as I pushed a small trolley around the supermarket...a mistake I won't be making again.
During the day, we went for a play in the park and also watched a little Wallace and Gromit. For a few weeks now, Evelyn has been quoting the Vicar whenever someone in her company burps..."Missus Mulch?" and today, during the first incarnation of the were-rabbit, when Wallace/Wererabbit howls at the moon, Evelyn began howling at the moon too...she is such a liddle beaudee!
Evelyn's Second Birthday Celebrations [ii]

Today, Gingatopia opened its arms in welcome to the Wassocks and the OsBradFam in further celebration of Evelyn's birthday.
Feeling slightly guilty about giving Evelyn a shop bought cake on her birthday, Jilly made Evelyn a special birthday cake in the shape of one of Evie's favourite TV characters, Fifi.
Aaaaaarrgghhhhh!

I went to the GP's this afternoon, and made the mistake of jumping carefully climbing onto the weighing scales. It's with some embarrassment that I report that I have broken my own personal record and now tip the scales at a whopping 21 [that's twenty one!] stone, or 133½ Kgs.
Jilly tells me that that is more than the combined weights of the rest of the family; Jilly, Kieran and Evelyn...
Evelyn's Second Birthday Celebrations
Posted by Webby at May 4, 2006 09:36 PM | Comments (0)In celebration of Evelyn's second birthday, today, Jilly organised a caravan holiday in Filey for the beginning of the week [unfortunately, as Kieran was having to endure his SATs examinations at school, he couldn't join us].
As Monday was a bank holiday, we organised to meet the Thorntons and Drurys in Filey for the day, spending most of it on the beach and Brigg. During the day, Evelyn enjoyed her first pony ride on the beach. While the pony dwarfed Evelyn [of course], it was very small [or, tiny as Evelyn reminded us constantly] and she was determined to ride the bid [big] one. Hopefully, I will be able to get photographs to the experience from Jenna, the only adult who had the presence of mind to bring a camera to the beach!
We spent each of the three days on the Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough beaches respectively [with Evie...er...and Jilly loving the sea] and two of the three evenings we enjoyed in the caravan park club.
So that Evelyn and Kieran could spend some time together on Evie's birthday, we returned to Huddersfield this afternoon to present Evelyn with her birthday presents and the first of two cakes. Evie was very excited about seeing Kieran, and equally excited about having her very own trampoline [I think that, secretly, Jilly wanted a bounce on it too!]. Reluctant to end our birthday celebrations, we went for a slap-up birthday pizza dinner...HUZZAH!
