Birthday Congratulations

Lee and Lynette are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their precious, beautiful daughter, Lilly Annalies ['Annalise', but with the Dutch spelling!], weighing in at a little under 6lb [my mum told my how much Lily weighed...er...but I didn't write it down...d'Oh!*], born on Monday, November 28th. A very welcome sister for Jacob...who is desperate for his new baby sister to go home with him. Just so long as Jacob remembers what a VIP he's got there...a Very Important Princess, that is!
Everyone in Gingatopia sends their love and heaps of congrat's to Lee, Lynette and Jacob...HUZZAH!
* Of course, I'll ask again and post the correct weight (and time) Lily was born, when I find out!
Vocabulary News
Posted by Webby at November 29, 2005 10:09 PM | Comments (0)Evelyn will not say ‘yes’! ‘No’ is still amongst her favourite words, and she uses it exhaustively. Dangerously, we’ve now learned that ‘NO!’ really can sometimes mean ‘yes’ [a confusing state of affairs which we hope to clear up sooner rather than later]. Now, if we ask Evelyn a question, to which her answer is ‘no’, we immediately ask, “Is that ‘no’ which means ‘yes’"? If the answer is ‘yes’, Evelyn will - very deliberately, very dramatically, very slowly - nod her head! But she will not even try to say the word ‘yes’! Beautiful peculiar girl!
When she finally accepts that it is time for bed, that further resistance is entirely futile, Evelyn has begun pointing at her teeth and demanding, “teech teech”, through clenched teeth. It’s time to brush her teeth! Of course, all this is for nought if, when we get to the bathroom, she flatly refuses to open her mouth to let the brush and toothpaste anywhere near her gnashers.
In her efforts to say ‘Kieran’ Evelyn has now called her brother ‘Kee’ [nearly there], ‘Keith’ [I like it!], and [according to Jilly!] ‘Cat Poo’…now, I am liking that a lot!
Bretton Sculpture Park

The population of Gingatopia [less Kieran who was at his dad’s] joined the Thongsbridge-Charleston clan in a trip to Bretton Hall Sculpture Park this afternoon.
If a little cold, the weather was beautiful, and we all enjoyed the fresh air, including Evelyn. Initially excited by the sight of a flock [is the collective noun for a group of birds on the ground a ‘flock’? Doesn’t seem right somehow?], Evie was a little nervous as they began walking towards us.
Evelyn was obviously very happy to be in such a ‘big garden’ and ran away excitedly several times. Unfortunately, at least one of the occasions ended with Evie laying face down in a pile of dirty leaves…d’Oh!
Kieran's Birthday [Pt. 1]

Nana Gee and Grandpa Bee visited Gingatopia today to help us celebrate Kieran's 14th birthday...er...which is tomorrow. Being a typical teenager, Kieran will be enjoying his actual birthday with his mates, but today, Jilly organised a lovely bonfire birthday cake for him [it was delish!].
Not surprisingly, Evelyn was desperate to help Kieran eat the cake.
Dom Stays
Posted by Webby at November 5, 2005 09:36 PM | Comments (0)Dom stayed over last night, as Jim and Helen gallivanted off to a gig in Leeds [I think!] and, unlike the last time he stayed, he seemed perfectly happy all night, even when the big ginger monster was in the room. Jilly and Helen had the good sense to remember the ‘Wallace and Gromit’ DVD, so that kept both the liddle beaudees amused until bedtime.
This particular photo was taken this morning, soon after the two liddle beaudees woke, very quietly, at around 08:15, and is too irresistable to leave off the blog. I've decided, Dom can stop again!
