Photoshop course - week 2

Posted by Webby at September 30, 2005 04:41 PM | Comments (0)

Remember, it's only week 2 for goodness sake!Jim, Jo and I are currently attending a beginners' Photoshop course at the local college. It's week 2 of the 10 week course and, on Wednesday night, we did LAYERS. I thought Jim and Jo might be interested that I'd finally managed to import my signature into a new layer...or perhaps not! I think it looks rather nice!

[Even] More speaking...

Blimin' 'Eck! I came home from work this evening to discover that Evelyn is now also saying "'Abbit" [Rabbit], "'Ole" [Mole], and, in the bath tonight, was splashing about in the "Warwar" [do I need to spell it out?]. Our liddle beaudee is flying now!

More speaking...

As I returned from work tonight, Jilly told me that Evelyn has learned a new word. Evelyn can now successfully identify and name a spoon. It's not a lot, I know, but progress none-the-less. All she needs to do now is add another three thousand words to her vocabulary, and she'll be challenging the Domster!

Liddle Miss Generous...

Drinking her [my] juice this morning, as she sat on her mum and dad's bed, Evelyn insisted that Jilly, teddy and I each had a drink in turn. Only after we'd all had some did Evelyn have have another drink herself, and then insist that we all drank again. This went on for some time, until all the juice was gone. Isn't she an absolute angel?

Incidentally, Jilly pointed out that it was really strange that she was actually quite de-hydrated. Strange, that is, because she made every effort to drink loads when she was out with Katie and Helen last night...ahem!

Sheffield's funniest man!And...the liddle beaudees! Bernie and Chris, as a special birthday treat for Jilly, bought tickets to see John Shuttleworth...er...and Dave Tordoff in their Fawn Again tour at the Leeds City Varieties. He...er...I mean they were very funny and, not to let is adoring public down, John gave us renditions of the old favourites.

Just for Jim and Helen...I've taken a few shots of the 'monster' I told you about at work. You know, the one we discussed after our reminiscing about the bull terrier and it's massive 'nads.

Go on, treat yourselves... <<CLICK HERE>>

Ripon and Fountains Abbey

Fountains Abbey from Anne Boleyn's Chair...er...and link to Flickr picturesThe population of Gingatopia, too soft to join them for the weekend camping, joined the Harriseses for the day in Ripon and Fountains Abbey today...and a lovely day it was too.

Jim and Helen met at Fountains Abbey when they were doing some volunteer work or other [I know I should know what it was, but can't remember!] and, as it is their wedding anniversary tomorrow [many congratulations you two, by the way], we Gingatopians joined them for an evening of Fountains Abbey by spotlight.

Dominic was on top form, and treated Jilly and I to an exhibition of his incredible ever-expanding vocabulary and it was clear, from the start, that Evie and Dominic were pleased to be together...er...though Dominic didn't hesitiate to make it clear that Evelyn obviously had a rival for his affection...

As we left Ripon, the evening was drawing in, and Jilly and I feared for the Harriseses safety as it was clear that the night was due to be very cold indeed...

More Catching Up...

...that's all I ever seem to find time to do just recently.

Evie is being an especially entertaining liddle beaudee at the moment. Nana Gee told Jilly and I that Evie has been making a whole host of animal noises throughout the day and, just to prove it, Evelyn successfully gave us her Cow 'Moooo', her Snake 'Tttthhhhhhhhh' [clearly, her thnake hath a thlight thpeeth impediment], her Lion/Tiger 'Rahhhh' and her Monkey 'Oo-oo'.

As Jilly, Nana Gee, Evelyn and I were finishing dinner, Nana Gee asked Evelyn what sound her daddy made and, as she looked me straight in the eye, exclaimed, "Shit!" and nonchalantly finished the fistful of food she was holding. While Nana Gee and Jilly exploded in fits of uncontrollable laughter, I was simply stunned.

Further News

I began work at my new employer on Monday the 12th September and, beside the irritatingly time consuming car journey to Halifax, everything seems to be going swimmingly at the moment. Everyone I've met so far seems really friendly and they've all made me feel very welcome...

Jilly sooo wants a pair of these in a 5!As Evelyn's feet are growing a little large for her first pair of shoes, we bought her a second - most beautiful - pair of boots today. They're an absolutely beautiful maroon with two sparkly pink hearts on each boot. Typically, Jilly enquired whether or not the boots were available in adult, size 5...sadly, they were NOT! Jilly is still crying now.

Not that anybody seems to be reading my Gingatopian Chronicles any more, I have been forced to impose mandatory registration on Typekey before a reader can post a comment on Gingatopia. Registration on Typekey is free, and only asks that the reader supply an e-mail address to which Typekey can send an account confirmation code.

Unfortunately, this action has become necessary as up to 30 comments a day are currently being posted to Gingatopia, and ave been posted for the last three months, leaving links to URLs for web-sites relating to all manner of bizarre things, including erection issues [or lack thereof], bestiality, gay [and lesbian] porn and second-hand car sales...I kid you not!

So, if you can't be bothered registering with Typekey...er...good riddance to ya...er...if you're reading this, that is!

It's with a great deal of relief...er...and more than a little surprise...that I can report that Megan Vickery [Grants Manager], member of yesterdays interview panel...er...and my new boss!...rang me today to offer me - pending the return of suitable references - the position of Senior Grants Administrator, starting, hopefully, on the Monday 12th September.

I'd just like to add a hearty HUZZAH!
