Mini Spy Camera
Posted by Webby at February 28, 2005 07:19 PM | Comments (1)
This is an example of the quality of image taken by the absolutely tiny mini-camera that Jilly bought me for Christmas. It is literally 5cm wide, 3cm high and 1 cm deep. Of course, then, the images aren't great - particularly with this subject matter - but having this mini camera makes me feel a little like James Bond.
Sad, I know, but true!
Continuing Celebrations

In my absence today [I was catching up on my beaudee sleep after my nightshift last night!], Jilly, Kieran and Evelyn joined OSBRADFAM [that is, the Osborne/Bradbury Family] in helping the Wassocks to further celebrate Dom's first birthday.
Judging by Jim's many photographs, much fun - and cake - was had by all...the liddle beaudees!

Jilly found this beautiful hair piece whilst clearing out some old junk today and...well, the inevitable happened.
Obviously, I made every effort to stop Jilly from embarrassing liddle Evelyn in this fashion [ahem!]...er...that's right, it was me taking the photo!
Happy Birthday Liddle Guy!

Happy Birthday to Youuu,
Happy Birthday to Youuu,
Happy Birthday dear Dominic,
Happeee Birthday to Yoooouuuu,
Droool on the caaaaaaaaake!
It's birthday madness, this week.
It's a special liddle guy's 1st birthday today, and everyone in Gingatopia would like to wish him a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY indeed.
And then, as if that wasn't enough...look what I found whilst trawling through all the old 'unprocessed' photographs on my laptop. A photograph of the happy trio taken, according to my PC, on the 29th February 2004. Hasn't he grown, etc., etc., etc. Oh, happy days...
Happy Birthday Dom, you liddle beaudee!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

And, Dominic's 1st birthday witnessed the greatest national snowfall so far this year! Along with one hundred or so other schools in the area, Kieran's school was closed today, so he could spend the day with the rest of the Gingatopian population. That is, of course, if it hadn't been for the Golf Club 'piste' that had been calling him since the early morning!
Inevitably, it seemed, Kieran joined his mates on a sledging expedition, while Jilly, Evie and I went on a lovely snowy walk. Evie seemed to be very interested in the snow, particularly as it fell to the ground. There were many 'Ooohhs' and 'Aaahhs', but Evelyn was, generally, very quiet as she took in the unusual change of scenery.
Happy Birthday Madeleine!

Happy Birthday to Youuu,
Happy Birthday to Youuu,
Happy Birthday dear Madeleine,
Happeee Birthday to Yoooouuuu,
Spit on the caaaaaaaaake!
It's a special liddle girl's sixth birthday today and everyone in Gingatopia would like to wish Maddy a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Our only concern, today, is that the present and card sent to Madeleine make it to her house, recently - and rather amusingly - renamed COTTAGE CHEESE, by her parents [it was previously known as HILLSIDE VIEW COTTAGE].
Happy Birthday, Madeleine.
Love from Jilly, Kieran, Webby and baby Evelyn xxx
And they're off...
Posted by Webby at February 20, 2005 07:17 PM | Comments (0)Jilly certainly appeared to have 'jumped the gun' a little the other day.
Well...now, it's official. Evie IS DEFINITELY crawling, and she's crawling everywhere. Thanks to the Judges, we have the necessary baby gates to prevent Evie from getting into the kitchen and hurting herself on the floor. The only problem we have now, is protecting her from herself, and the fire place, and all our lovely books...D'Oh!
I had my camera out at the time, and did manage to get a little video but, typically, Evie stopped crawling as soon as she realised I was recording the event...the little monster!

One image of Evelyn taken at her first Christmas party aged eight months.
One image of me, a.k.a. Uncle Fester, to my nearest and dearest [ahem!], also aged about eight months.
Clearly, there's no hope for the girl, is there?
Pennine Way - Blackstone Edge Moor

Jim treated me to another yomp over the moors this morning...and a joy it was too!
At a very modest distance of three miles, the walk from the butty wagon [just off the 'A' road near junction 22 of the M62...er...from which we bought ZERO sausage butties, or the like, thank you very much!], to the 'trig point' on Blackstone Edge Moor [NGR SD972164], and back again, was great. The weather was beautiful...if a little cold, and I think that Jim may, initially, have begun to regret starting out on the walk as the cold seemed to further aggravate his sore throat...but he made it, the liddle soldier!
Piccies courtesy of Jim at WASSOCKS. As it's a little rude, constantly linking to Jim's Flickr pages, I do intent to create one of my own - with the images he's provided - in a day or so!
AND...apart from the monster next to the 'trig' point, spoiling the view, isn't this a b...eautiful picture? Cheers Jim.
Be my VALENTINE
Posted by Webby at February 14, 2005 12:00 PM | Comments (0)Just a quick note for a VERY SPECIAL HANDSOME LIDDLE GUY at WASSOCKS...
Just so there's no confusion as to who [at least one of] your mystery admirer[s] is...CLICK HERE!
UPDATED - 17 FEB 2005
I decided that, as the metaphorical cat was out of the bag, I should make some record of the card Evelyn made [ahem!] for Dominic!
Dominic [read, Jim and Helen] reciprocated by [obviously spending hours] creating a very special card for Evelyn...er...from Dominic. Made using, what appeared to be, a cornflakes packet, the card had the very tremendously heart-warming message...YOU'LL DO!
Message to Helen: There's no wonder you fell for Jim. He's a smooth talking b*****d, isn't he?
Bath-time with Bib-bib!

We finally managed to get Kieran into the bathroom tonight but..er...only to help with Evie's bath. The little soapswerver usually runs a mile at the sound of running water!
Evie seemed to enjoy the extra bath-time attention, but soon got tired of the Mr Whippy hairstyles! Thank you, Bib-bib!
Happy Clappy...
Posted by Webby at February 11, 2005 09:36 PM | Comments (0)Evelyn is definitely now able to 'clap hands' on request! We think it's something the children are encouraged to do while singing at the nursery.
She is such a little beaudee, I will - hopefully - have video of her doing it before long...we'll see.
36th and 0.75th Birthday Celebrations
Posted by Webby at February 4, 2005 09:55 PM | Comments (2)In celebration of my 36th birthday [bloody hell!], and Evelyn's 0.75th birthday - Evelyn was born exactly nine months before my birthday...er...or three months after it - the population of Gingatopia de-camped to York for the day, today.
Making the drive over to York more enjoyable was the fact that we'd installed Evie's new car seat, which - unlike her first seat - is forward facing. I was, of course, very good [no, really!], and only ever chanced a look at Evelyn [using the rear view mirror] when the car was stationary. Evie was clearly alot happier facing forward in the car, which made the journey all the more enjoyable...the liddle nosey-bonk!
We arrived in York at lunchtime and called in to see Ashley and Sarah, then we all walked to 'The Gillygate', run by two of Ashley's friends, Gary and Shirley. After a lovely lunch, we said goodbye to Ash and Sarah, and went for a look around York's shops before going to the Castle Museum. Cunningly, I kept my York Card from our time in York, so entrance cost us nothing...HUZZAH!
Unfortunately, Jilly and Kieran have both ill for the past few days, so I was forced to 'mop up' the remaining pizza at Pizza Hut before we left York for home at about 19:00.
High in Fibre - AKA Something else to tease Evie with when she gets older.
Before we left for York, Jilly fed and changed Evelyn, calling me into Evie's Room as she was changing her. Evelyn had, very obviously, eaten some red cotton [about 10cm of the stuff!] in the past couple of days, and it was now making an appearance at the other end. Jilly was a bit surprised to see the end of the cotton appear, but even more surprised as she pulled out a further 9cm of the stuff. Fortunately, Liddle Evie didn't bat an eye lid!
Making New Friends
Posted by Webby at February 1, 2005 10:16 PM | Comments (1)Evelyn has made a new friend at the nursery today and, being girls, they spent the day doing what all girls with leisure time do; they spent their time gassing. As Amalie was in Dominic's Swimbabes class, Jilly and I suspect that they may have been talking [and giggling] about him. Below, are the comments about Evie's day, provided by the nursery.
"Evie had a good morning passing toys to and fro to Amalie. They were 'talking' to each other and seemed to understand because they kept giggling and smiling. Evie was pulling herself up with everything today, very very proud of herself, very clever and she knows it too."
Many thanks to Carole at the nursery.
