More visiting...

Evelyn going to work in 'Baby Gap'As Jilly is taking Evelyn to work today she decided that Evelyn should, perhaps, wear the beautiful Baby Gap dress that Jackie (is that how she spells her name?) bought her. Though you can't see them, the dress came with matching pants to keep Evie's dignity when she's waving her legs around. Initially, the dress was a little too big for Evelyn, but looks lovely on her now. I think the dress looks a lot like dungerees, which are my favourites [though Jilly says I'd look super gay in a pair, myself...no taste, that woman!]. Many thanks, again, to Jackie...the dress is beaudeeful!

Pebbles Webster

Peebles WebsterAs I'm on a late shift at work today, I've had chance to spend a little time with Jilly and Evelyn before I take them to visit Nana-bananas in Brafford [sic].

As she looked so very beautiful, I thought I'd upload a picture of Evie in her latest outfit. Generously donated from The House of Laura collection, Evelyn's 'Pebbles' dress (like Pebbles Flintstone, geddit?) is paired with a little bolero cardie from The House of Imogen collection. Many thanks to Helen, Roger, Jenna, James and, of course, Laura and Mo...the liddle beaudees!

Hold still Dad...Evelyn spent so long with her fingers up my nose last night that Jilly had time to go upstairs, rifle through my wardrobe, find the camera and get back to capture Evie open cast nostril mining!

Welcoming a beaudeeful liddle Ginga to Gingatopia

Andrew and Ellie came round to visit Jilly and Evelyn today... er... and then Andrew left Ellie with Jilly and Evie for something or other [I dunno!]. According to Jilly, Evelyn and Ellie seemed to get onEllie reviewing Evie's latest book! like a house on fire...which is nice! Then Kieran arrived home from work to join in the fun! Jilly said that Ellie was a little anxious when she first arrived, but soon settled down to play with Evelyn, being very gentle indeed, when she wasn't taking in a little reading material...the liddle beaudee!

It won't be long before the pair of them are firing off down the pub and swigging alco-pops and bringing boys home....er...NOT!

She's swim-licious

Posted by Webby at September 21, 2004 08:58 PM | Comments (0)

Jilly and Evelyn went to their third Swimbabes class today...and they loved it. Evelyn, and the other five swimbabes, went underwater again; and Evelyn was the only one NOT to cry. Dat's ma girl! Even more impressive was that it was Jilly's turn to hold Evie as she went underwater [last week, the instructor showed Jilly how to do it!]. Jilly was [understandably] a bit nervous, but all the nerves went as she saw how relaxed Evie was when she resurfaced!

Dinnertime was also eventful too. I fed Evie tonight, and she absolutely WOLFED her Cream of Carrot and Cauli puree down, and I mean wolfed it down. I was having trouble keeping up with the shovelling, as Evie waved her arms and legs about in her excitement! Then, as I put the very last mouthful in, Evie hesitated...leaned back slightly...hesitated again...and then covered me in the mother of all carrot/cauli puree sneezes! It was so spectacular, that I asked Jilly to come into the kitchen to witness the results of the vegetable explosion...oh, how we laughed (ahem!). No photographs, unfortunately, but as Evie is eating so very well now, I intend to post a link to a bit of a video...oohhhh, that'll be a treat, won't it (ahem!)

It's a WHOPPER!Look at the size of the pasties our friends at http://www.wassocks.com brought back from their recent trip to the West Country.

We love Jim, Helen and Dominic, we do!

Evelyn's New Tumbling Routine

Posted by Webby at September 19, 2004 08:06 PM | Comments (0)

Alright, it wasn't exactly a tumbling routine...but Jilly has just phoned Kieran and I [as we are in the loft working, on-line, for Kieran's homework] to tell us that she has just laid Evelyn on her tummy on the floor, and that Evie turned over onto her back entirely unaided! How great is that? Okay, I know...I know...it's not like she suddenly got up and started running around, but it's a start, isn't it?

The Himalayas...er...via Bretton Hall

Posted by Webby at September 19, 2004 07:46 PM | Comments (0)

As Kieran is at his dad's until this afternoon, Jilly and I decided to go for a spin to Bretton Park this morning to get some fresh air in Evelyn's lungs. Clearly, she's not interested in sleeping at the moment, so we thought that a bit of fresh air would help her sleep tonight!

Himalayan EvelynConkers...bonkersAs it is a bit cold this morning, Jilly though Evie should wear her super warm Himalyan trekking hat...doesn't she look cute! Typically, Jilly went conkers bonkers when we got to the park, she just luvs 'em! The house is going to be littered with dozens of rotting bloody horsechestnut husks now....ggggrrrrr!

Another [unfortunate] first

Posted by Webby at September 16, 2004 09:01 PM | Comments (0)

Our poor liddle beaudee has got her first cold! I got home from work today for Jilly to tell me that Evelyn has been sneezing all day. Evie looks even more adorable than usual as she constantly - and rather clumsily - rubs her nose and eyes with her little fists. Her beautiful blue eyes are red where she's been rubbing them, and she is obviously having difficulty breathing through her nose, but is hardly complaining at all [in fact she's a lot less vocal than normal]. We're both expecting Evie to wake in the night...we'll see!

A(nother) Full Nights Sleep

Posted by Webby at September 14, 2004 07:04 AM | Comments (0)

Is it too early to say that Evie's sleep has settled back down? We'll see; but Evie slept through again last night and has woken up as I'm getting ready to leave for work; 21:30 to 07:00...not too shabby! Perhaps Evie was getting a good nights sleep in preparation for this weeks visit to Swimbabes, where she will be doing her first underwater swim!

A Full Nights Sleep

Evie in a 'House of Drury' and 'House of Ellie' combo!Last night was the first night since Friday 3rd September that Evelyn has slept through...HUZZAH!

Since Evie has been eating 'solid' food, her sleep has been rather disturbed, and she has woken Jilly and I for a feed at between 01:00 and 04:30 every night since the 3rd; but not last night! Of course, for 'slept through', I mean that Evie slept until 06:15. Still, not too shabby!

Kate's B'day

Posted by Webby at September 12, 2004 07:14 PM | Comments (0)

The Gingatopian Expeditionary Force made it's way to Kate and John's house in Bradford today, to join the family in celebration of Kate's 33rd birthday.

Four Generations...As well as getting photo's of the birthday girl, the event proved an excellent opportunity to get photographs of Evelyn with members of the other three female generations of the House of Annis [as every other time we've visited Evie's Great-grandma [and Great-grandad], I've forgotten my camera...d'oh!]

Sadly, many of the images of the party-goers tucking into the wonderful spread, that Katie laid on, were considered too shocking for publication on the blog!

P.S. I would, though, like to take this opportunity to thank Kate for providing vol-au-vents in the buffet. Am I the only person in the world who thinks that party food isn't party food without vol-au-vents!

Beaudeeful Liddle Lofty!

Posted by Webby at September 9, 2004 06:24 AM | Comments (0)

Jilly returned with Evelyn from the Baby Clinic, yesterday, to report that Evie now weighs in at 6.30kg or 13lb 14oz [in the 50th percentile], and is a lofty 64cm tall [in the 75th percentile]. That means that, since Evie's height was last measured on 17th June, she's grown another 6.5cm. That's 6.5cm in 11 weeks! It would appear that Evie is concentrating all her growing energies into increasing her height, rather than her weight, at the moment...just like her dad [ahem!]

While the cat's away...

...the fat bearded ginger mouse will play!

Proof, if proof be need be...Jilly has taken Evie to Baby Clinic to have her weighed and measured, and all that malarkey, so I get to play in my overground lair. Which reminds me, just to prove that the rest of the family are, under very special circumstances, allowed in my 'playroom', I took this photo of Evie and Jilly the other day. Look like they bloody own the place, don't they? Kieran is up here so often that taking a photo never seemed necessary!

...that's right, 'B' is for BEAUDEE!And I took this photo of Evie this morning. As I needed to assemble Evie's new wardrobe, and Jilly was preparing Evie's courgette surprise [Mmmm, yummy!], I put Evie in her chair and covered her in one of her blankets. I thought she looked especially sweet, so I've posted this photo too! And...I've just noticed...what do you suppose the 'B' might stand for, eh?

Our Beaudeeful Water Baby

Posted by Webby at September 7, 2004 09:44 PM | Comments (0)

Perhaps the most exciting thing to happen in the world today was that Jilly took Evelyn to Swimbabes for her first swimming lesson. Evelyn has always enjoyed it in the bath but, according to Jilly, she was extremely 'splashy' in the pool, and obviously enjoyed it immensely. The session instructor said that Swimbabes, week number two, will see Evie's first 'submarinal' swim...that's right, she'll go under water! We'll have her in a wet suit in no time!

No photo's are available as yet, but we soon hope to be able to present some of Evie doing her 'Liddle Mermaid' stuff! Watch this space!

The EVIECADO monster!

Posted by Webby at September 4, 2004 06:35 PM | Comments (2)

The EVIECADO monster...geddit?Evie is LOVIN'itJust keep your hands away from her mouth!

We've found a 'solid' food that Evie seems to positively enjoy...AVOCADO! What's all that about then, eh? Evelyn eats her baby rice [like a good liddle beaudee], and seems to like butternut squash OK, but she really wolfed her avocado dip down this lunch time...HUZZAH!

Oh...yeh! How quickly does a baby's digestive system work, eh? I'm getting ready for work, and we've just seen the reappearance of the avocado. I'll probably not be posting any pictures of that particular mess!

Tour of Britain 2004 - Holme Moss

Posted by Webby at September 2, 2004 04:40 PM | Comments (0)

Bloody typical! It's the 2nd of September, and the sun has finally decided to show its face as ninety [plus] lunatics [fantastically fit cycling athletes] cycle from Leeds to Sheffield, via Holme Moss and the Snake Pass, on the second of five days of cycling for The Tour of Britain.

Of course, I only went because there was no other way that Jillian could satisfy her need to attend a cycling 'tour' date, even if it were just the Tour of Britain.

VERY EXCITED, INDEED! - link to our 'snapGallery'Actually, it was very exciting for the few seconds the riders were visible and, I hope, it will spur me on to continue cycling with Jim. Three lead cyclists passed us then, about ten minutes later, a second larger group closely followed by the Peloton (the largest group of cyclists). More embarrassing for me, were the dozens of amateur cyclists that were cycling the route before the race came through. One of them, in a yellow jersey (yeh! right!) absolutely dwarfed me (if you can believe it) on his bike! Having said that, he was very clearly in much better condition than I, so a great deal of respect is due to the man...well done, Sir!

SAYING A FOND FAREWELL
And, Jilly and Evie joined Helen and Dominic in saying a fond farewell to Eid, Helen and beautiful liddle Maryam [who's already standing on her own, don't you know...ahem!] as they prepared to return to Jordan.

Thanks to Helen for taking the photo's in my absence.
