As this seems to work, it's now time [if I can find the time!], to create two or three more snapGalleries and upload them to my ntlworld space...but don't hold your breath!
Developing a taste for...

During a trip to Brafford (sic) today with mum and big brother, Evelyn was given pureed carrot for her lunch...which - apparently - she found most distasteful, spitting it over everyone in the immediate vicinity [I don't know what Jilly expected, to be honest...carrot, eh? I ask ya?]. The picture is of the results of a similar episode at home!
On her return home, Evie was treated to half pint of mum's super unleaded, followed by substantial helping of yummy yum yum baby rice - prepared, lovingly, by myself - which she absolutely wolfed down [dat's my girl!]. There can be no doubt that Evie will be cramming brown meat pies and pizzas down her neck in no time at all now! I can only hope that, as she grows older, Evelyn manages to waste less!
Come on Baby, you can do it...
Posted by Webby at August 23, 2004 05:18 PM | Comments (0)Having returned form a lovely [if rather wet] weekend away in Pateley Bridge for Adam and Sharon's wedding, Jilly decided that it was time to introduce Evelyn to the delights of [nearly] solid food.

Rather than going straight in at the deep-end as I had recommended [what's wrong with fish and chips, that's what I'd like to know?]. Jilly insisted on giving Evelyn something called 'baby rice' to start with [Am I 'earing right? Baby...rice...?] Not surprisingly, Evie hated it! Unfortunately, if Evelyn is ever going to join the rest of the family at Memsahibs for a slap up curry supper, she's gonna have to start with baby rice. Go on Evie...you can do it!
Introducing Mr & Mrs Adam McKay
Posted by Webby at August 23, 2004 10:33 AM | Comments (0)This weekend was spent away at The Harefield Hall Hotel in Pateley Bridge celebrating, firstly, the wedding of Adam and Sharon on Saturday 21st August, and then our sixth wedding anniversary on Sunday...HUZZAH!
Typically, in a free bar booze fuelled period of photographic incompetence, I failed to take any photos of my beautiful family enjoying [and behaving] themselves at the reception, though I did get a few nice pictures of the newly weds during the day and night. It goes without saying that this photographic inadequacy has attracted some criticism from Jillian...d'oh! But, you know what they say, "You can please some of the people all the time, and all of the people some of the time...but you're wasting your bloody energy trying to keep the wife happy!"...er...at least, I think that's what they say!
As it is becoming something of a tradition, Jilly and I went for a slap up wedding anniversary curry in The Bengal Cuisine in Pateley Bridge, taking Kieran and Evelyn with us. The food was great, as were Kieran and Evie (who slept most of the way through dinner).
As, traditionally, presents exchanged by couples celebrating their sixth anniversary are made of sugar, I bought Jilly a jar of Yorkshire Mixture from The Oldest Sweet Shop in England while Jilly bought me a sugar pig and piglett, claiming that they reminded her of some people close to her...though I can't think who she could possibly mean!
We all had an excellent time at the wedding and would, very much, like to thank Adam and Sharon, again, for inviting us, and for the lovely bottle of champagne they gave us to celebrate our anniversary...many thanks, you guys!
Honley-tastic
Posted by Webby at August 19, 2004 08:09 PM | Comments (0)It seems as though everyone is moving house at the moment.
Kempy, Kemplett and Kempy's geezer, Ian, have moved into their new home in Honley and invited the Webster/Slevin clan over for tea and buns to celebrate and to give us the opportunity for a bit of a nosy round. The house is lovely with a big [terraced] garden, excellent for throwing summer BBQs...er...if we ever get a summer, that is! Of course, I'm prepared to wait until next year if it's absolutely necessary.
Swinton-tastic

Julie and her flat-mate, Bav, have now started their new jobs in Bury and invited the Webster/Slevin clan over for dinner and to see their lovely new house in Swinton. On three floors, and including three bedrooms, the house is really nice and wasn't at all difficult to find.
Bav treated us to a lovely buffet lunch [which I made a pig of myself on, of course!] before settling down to another [inevitable] cramming at (Lord of the Rings) RISK by Julie. Will I ever learn?
Master Dominic Harris' Baptism

Needless-to-say, an excellent time was had by all!
Leavening or bust (II)
Posted by Webby at August 14, 2004 09:42 PM | Comments (0)Having returned from the Webster/Slevin summer holiday today, I am now able to record the events of our week in sunny [ahem!] Leavening.
As the Drurysharks were away sunning it up in Majorca, we offered to stay at their's to look after Maddie and Charlie's Guinea Pigs (Jasper and... wait for it... Stingray Captain Scarlett) while spending the occasional day touring the charming sun-soaked resorts of the North Yorkshire coast.
When we arrived on Sunday 8th, Kieran and I set up his brand spanking new tent hoping that he'd be able to give it a test run over the week. Unfortunately, it absolutely wazzed it down [complete with thunder and lightning], so we though it made sense for him to stay indoors over night.
On Monday 9th, we took Evelyn to Whitby and Runswick Bay for her first visit to the seaside. The liddle beaudee seemed to enjoy dipping her toes nearly as much as her mum...the big kid!
In the hope that the rain would finally stop for Wednesday, to enable us to spend a few days in the sun on the coast, Tuesday 10th saw a visit to the Designer Outlet in York. While we were in York we called in at the Judge's for a delicious lunch provided by the lovely Ashley. Of course, it rained all day!
Further down the coast on Wednesday, to Filey. Usually a lovely place to spend some time on the beach...even if there is very little to do otherwise. Unfortunately, while there was little in the way of rain, there was an awful sea-fret which meant visibility was never greater than 50m or so. Still, in typically British 'stiff-upper-lip' fashion, we soldiered on determined to enjoy our day out. Jilly and Kieran enjoyed making sand-pyramids [eh?], while Evie spent much of the time asleep on her daddy's knees.
On Wednesday evening, we had organised for The Judges to visit for dinner and - miracle of miracles - the sun made an appearance, so we stoked up the BBQ. I got nothin' but grief from Jilly as I left John to do the all the cooking [I think he likes the responsibility of being left in charge of FIRE!].
Still desperate to spend some time in the sun, we spent Thursday 12th in Scarborough, where we bumped into Jilly's mum, Jean, and two of her mates! Again, the weather was miserable!
As Jilly wanted to be home for the weekend to help Helen prepare for Dominic Harris' baptism on Sunday, we left Leavening on Friday AM so that we'd have time to call on on Ashley and Sarah in York, before heading off home in time to miss the traffic around Leeds.
...and that was the Webster/Slevin summer holiday! Or was it? It's a little late to call a summer holiday, admittedly, but we are also looking forward to a marvellous SUN £9.50 HOLIDAY in Filey for Jilly's birthday. That's right, Jilly's birthday...in October! The summer sun fun just goes on and on...and on and on and on!
The Prodigal Son Returns...
Posted by Webby at August 1, 2004 09:29 PM | Comments (1)Kieran returned from his trip to Florida in the small hours of last night (to the tremendous relief of his mum!), and we collected him this afternoon [after a bit of a sleep] and all went to visit Katie and John in Bradford. Typically, while I took my camera, I failed to take a single photo of the event, which is unfortunate because one photo I may have captured could have been of the expression on John's face every time Evelyn exploded in a fit of the screamin' abdabs...still, next time perhaps! I was very quick to remind John that fatherhood creeps up on all us eventually...and I made sure he understood how truly amazing it is!
And then...in an attempt to rescue me from the bottomless pit which is my own morbid obesity, Jim Harris very generously (ahem!) took me on a 6.9km bike ride this morning...something which I hope to repeat (blisters and sore arse willing) on Wednesday after work!
